This service provides a specialized assessment of support needs in children between 6 and 12 years old, with the aim of obtaining a detailed and comprehensive understanding of their cognitive functioning and neuropsychological profile. This evaluation allows, when appropriate, the establishment of a guiding roadmap for subsequent therapeutic, educational, or support interventions, always adapted to each child’s individual characteristics.

The assessment facilitates the identification of strengths and areas of difficulty that may be influencing different aspects of the child’s life, such as academic performance, behavior, emotional self-regulation, autonomy, or adaptation to family and school environments. To achieve this, different domains of neuropsychological functioning are analyzed in an integrated manner, with special attention to general cognitive abilities, attentional processes, and executive functions, which are key skills for learning, planning, cognitive flexibility, and appropriate developmental progress.

Study of the Child Neuropsychological Profile

Evaluation Process and Tools

The assessment is supported by the use of standardized and validated tests, which allow for the collection of objective and comparable measures. Among the main areas evaluated are attention, memory, cognitive flexibility, phonological and semantic fluency, and working memory, among other executive functions.

The tools commonly used include:

  • Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children – Fifth Edition (WISC-V)

  • Neuropsychological Assessment of Executive Functions in Children (ENFEN)

  • Brief Neuropsychological Assessment of Attention and Memory (NEUROPSI)

  • Revised Perception of Differences Test (CARAS-R)

  • d2-R Attention Test

The process begins with a comprehensive clinical interview with the parents, aimed at gathering relevant information about developmental history, family and school context, and the main concerns. Subsequently, the standardized tests are administered, and finally, a feedback session is conducted in which the report is delivered, the results are clearly explained, and specific guidance is provided regarding possible intervention.
