CARE FOR CHILDREN AT SOCIAL RISK

Work with children

At INTRA-TP, we offer specialised support to children and young people in vulnerable situations or at social risk, taking a holistic approach to their emotional, behavioural and family needs.

We work with children and adolescents who face difficulties arising from situations of exclusion, family conflict, neglect, bullying or traumatic experiences.

Our approach combines individual intervention with support for families and coordination with schools and social services, fostering safe environments and promoting the child’s healthy development. We design personalised intervention plans aimed at strengthening emotional skills, improving self-esteem, fostering resilience and preventing high-risk situations.

Our aim is to provide a safe, trusting and respectful space where every child can develop their potential and build a more stable and healthy life plan.

What do we mean by social risk?

A child may be at risk when there are factors that jeopardise their well-being or development, such as:

  • Neglect or serious difficulties in upbringing.

  • Exposure to domestic violence.

  • Instances of gender-based violence in the child’s environment.

  • Family breakdown.

  • Mental health issues among key caregivers.

  • Severe socio-economic difficulties.

  • Bullying or social exclusion.

Social risk does not necessarily mean that the child must be separated from their family, but it does mean that they need professional support and monitoring.

Which children do we work with?

At INTRA-TP, we have professionals specialising in various areas of the child protection system. Our services are aimed at different groups involved in the protection and welfare of children and young people:

  • Children subject to protective measures (foster care or residential care).

  • Children and adolescents under administrative guardianship.

  • Adolescents serving court-ordered sentences.

  • Children in the process of adoption or foster care.

  • Children or young people facing social exclusion.
