EARLY INTERVENTION SERVICE
What is it?
Early intervention comprises a range of interventions aimed at children aged 0 to 6 who have developmental disorders, neurodevelopmental difficulties or are at risk of developing them. Furthermore, at our centre we offer continuity of care up to the age of 12 (post-early intervention), tailoring the intervention to the developmental needs of each child and their family.
Its main objective is to foster the child’s overall development, enhance their abilities and promote their participation in the various settings of everyday life, whilst offering guidance, support, counselling and family training, as well as helping to create supportive environments.

How does this service work?
The intervention is carried out using a transdisciplinary approach, in coordination with professionals in psychology, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy and physiotherapy, etc., providing comprehensive care tailored to each child’s needs.
The process begins with an initial assessment, which includes an interview with the family to gather relevant information on developmental milestones, concerns, key needs and an analysis of the child’s daily routines. Information regarding the child’s educational background is also gathered, alongside clinical observation of the child through play with their parents and/or interactions with peers in natural settings.
Based on this assessment, functional and individualised objectives are established, agreed upon with the family and aimed at improving the child’s participation in various developmental contexts.
Sessions are tailored to the characteristics and needs of each child, using strategies based on play, learning in natural contexts and family involvement. Furthermore, there is ongoing coordination with schools and other professionals involved to promote the generalisation of learning and ensure a consistent approach across all the child’s environments.
In which areas do we operate?
The programme focuses in particular on:
Stimulating cognitive development
Developing communication skills
Improving gross and fine motor skills
Enhancing personal independence in activities of daily living
Developing social, emotional and behavioural skills

What are the sessions like?
Intervention sessions are held with families and their children, although there are also sessions exclusively with families. They take place mainly at the centre, but can also be held at home, at nursery or school, or in the local community (parks, supermarkets, shops, etc.), depending on the agreed needs and objectives. These sessions last between 45 and 60 minutes.
